Anime update from the front lines

During my time off I got into a few really good anime’s, here are my top 3 picks.

Kekkaishi: A cliche story about a boy who is chosen to protect a mysterious area which is constantly under attack. Don’t be fooled… the story may seem a bit cliche but for some reason its stands out amongs the crowd.  The series is around 52 eps and continues with the Manga. More info…

Code Geass and Code Geass R2: Mind bending anime a bit to do with politics and a little bit of Mech fighting all arounf very good series also the seconds season R2 is wrapping up as you read this so I recommend checking this one out first. More info…

Gundam 00: Ah yes I know you remember the Gundam series I i know you’re telling yourself “im not going to watch another Gundam saga” but trust me this one is good, it is WAY more realistic than the rest of em Its so good that  a second season will be out soon. More info…

Woot! FINALLY after such a long time Bleach: Memories of Nobody comes out on DVD. Lets see how long it takes to hit the torrent sites.

Claymore. Hot Blondes Big Swords.

Claymore is based on a typical good vs evil plot. Demons (or Yoma) live hidden amongst humans killing them to feed & Claymores who are part Yoma, engineered by a secret group to protect the humans.

After wacthing 13 episodes so far i’m hooked. Not just because it features hot blondes wielding huge swords, it’s the sheer brutality & compelling story thus far. Sadly enough, I cant get into the plot without spoiling the action. ( It gets REALLY REALLY good around episode 8).

Take my word for it, the series is impressive thus far, let’s hope its not a let down like most animes.

News Update:
A second Bleach movie will be premiering in Japan in December 2007. And Bleach: Memories of Nobody will be released on DVD September 5th, 2007

Paprika… paprika… its a fun word to say. paprika!!!
In this film by director Satoshi Kon we see Dr. Atsuko Chiba, a research psychotherapist whose alter-ego is a “dream detective,” code named PAPRIKA, who can enter people’s dreams.
It looks visually interesting. And the topic of dreams has always interested me.

Afro Samurai

Afro Samurai is a five-part animated series which Executive producer Samuel L. Jackson adapted from Takashi Okazaki’s original manga. Afro Samurai aired on Spike TV back in January but reruns are still going on, Im still waiting to see the last chapter. Filled with Fancy swordplay and a Bad Ass Samurai if you haven’t seen it you gotta check it out, Thursdays @ 11PM and a new episode Airs on Wednesday 28th @ 10PM. And also if you want to wait there will be a DVD coming out on March 22nd packed with extras.

Naruto: Hurricane Chronicles Airs in Japan!

The Fillers have ended and the moment we’ve been all waiting for is finally here! Naruto: Shipuuden or what we will know it in English as Naruto: Hurricane Chronicles has Aired today @ 7:30 PM in Japan (5:30 AM EST) Im yet to find out if its going to kick off with Kakashi’s Mini Story or jump right back into the series where Naruto Returns from training. Im impatiently waiting on a Fansub and I know you all are too, so I will post a link as soon as get any info.
